Well done OIS team!

Cross country at Vilamoura. OIS competed at the Algarve International Schools Cross Country Event. It was held at Vilamoura International School on a beautiful, crisp February afternoon last weekend. Twenty-six students represented OIS, which is a fantastic turnout and almost a quarter of the schools’ student numbers. Whilst every participating student must be praised for their effort and commitment before, during and after the event, special praise must be reserved for some of the excellent individual and team performances. In the Girls Varsity division, Sofia Vilardebó finished in an outstanding second place after a gutsy run. Luisa Mandacaru must also be congratulated for her position of ninth in the Girls’ Iniciados division. In the Boys’ Varsity division Paulo Silva finished a creditable fourth followed by Tiago De Zoeten in seventh place and Tiago Slegers in eighth. The Varsity Boys finished second overall, with Ascenso Da Câmara, their fourth runner, to finishing in a commendable twelfth position. In the Boys Iniciados division, Diego Slegers once again ran a great race and finished seventh out of forty one runners.
