Dear Students and Parents:
Oeiras International School is proud to offer the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme, an exciting, challenging and rigorous programme requiring not only academic application, but a growing awareness of what it means to be part of today’s world.
At OIS we offer a selection of subjects wide enough to allow our students entrance to all degrees in many countries of the world including Portugal. Our teachers are experts in their subject areas and extremely dedicated to the success of our students. Tutors together with teachers provide supportive pastoral care.
To give our students that unique experience, OIS provides a rich option of within school activities and opportunities in the local community or abroad. These promote physical activity, creative expression and service to the community. Examples of activities are working as volunteers in institutions for the elderly, for children or disabled people, participating in the Duke of Edinburgh Award, repairing houses in Barcarena, participating in musical evenings, school productions and sports teams.
We look forward to welcoming you for a visit to our astonishing grounds and for a detailed discussion of the possible options and requirements to become part of the OIS community and the Diploma Programme.

Subject Overviews
The International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme provides a challenging, internationally focused, broad and balanced educational experience for students aged 16 to 18. OIS offers the IB Diploma Programme as the programme of study for years 12 and 13, the final two years of school. Students are required to study six subjects and a curriculum core concurrently over two years. The programme is designed to equip students with the basic academic skills needed for university study, further education and their chosen profession as well as developing the values and life skills needed to live a fulfilled and purposeful life (DP: from principles into practice, 2009).
