"Candidates who wish to be stretched should, in my view, take the MYP. The rigour and work ethic it encourages will assist them strongly if they wish to progress to a degree that will require them to really engage with their subject discipline."

- "Find your Rhythm", An Unofficial Guide to the IB Diploma Programme by Francisco Moreira
"Find Your Rhythm is an unconventional guide for IB students. It was written by a former IB student and an Associate Founder of OIS, which challenges students to become empowered over their education, enabling them to get better grades through higher engagement. The principle behind the book is simple: Study what you love, and study in a way which is unique to you. By doing so students become more engaged with their studies, get better grades, and it feels like less effort.
Find Your Rhythm has been specifically designed for a better reading experience (refer to pictures). IB students already have a large number of books and texts to read, and as such we didn't want to make yet another boring book. Find Your Rhythm has a very unique style to it - just like we encourage students to adopt their own unique studying style, we have our own.
Success isn't only a result of studying, it also results from adopting positive attitudes which foster the ability to process and retain information. As such topics like meditation and dealing with procrastination are also covered. Finally, and certainly not least, is the student's support structure. Parents are a fundamental part of a student's support structure, and it's a challenging role to play. As such there is a chapter exclusively for parents, to provide them with some insight from the perspective of the student.
Find Your Rhythm can be found on Amazon.co.uk, and for more information check out www.findyrhythm.com or email findyrhythm@gmail.com

- Lisbon Bullsharks Swim Team News
This past weekend (Feb. 16th and 17th), 9 of our athletes and their families along with the Team Coach, travelled to Eindhoven, in the Netherlands to participate in the European Forces Swimming League (EFSL) Annual Championships – where over 300 athletes from 19 NATO affiliated and International teams competed for individual, relay and overall meet trophies. Swimmers competing in events were:
Isidro Carrara, Luis Carrara, Thomas Smith, Nick Beadles, Sean Russell, Lucas Bugge, Katie Patient, Nicholas Patient and Dominic Wolfe
The Team acquitted itself really well in the face of some strong opposition from other EFSL League teams, which in many cases had over three or four times as many swimmers competing. The overall medal count for the Bullsharks was 1 Gold medal, 4 Silver medals, and 2 Bronze medals.
